  20. Discussions
  21.
  22.
  23.
  24. Format changes              everybody seemed happy with the current
  25.                             format so it was decided to leave it as it
  26.                             is.
  27. Augmentations               if there is always a postscript version, we
  28.                             should have a nice cross-reference chart
  29.                             for keywords and tools.  This was discussed
  30.                             in NOCtools originally.
  31. Updating existing entries      it was decided that the contacts for the
  32.                             entries in the current catalog will be
  33.                             contacted for updates.  In the future, all
  34.                             entries will have a "last updated"
  35.                             timestamp.  Entries which are not updated
  36.                             by the contacts within some (to be
  37.                             determined) time, will be deleted.
  38.                             Updates must be submitted as whole
  39.                             replacements for entries.  Requests to
  40.                             modify an entry will be refused (too much
  41.                             overhead).
  42. Adding new entries          we will send mail to ietf, tcp-ip, pc-ip
  43.                             and snmp mailing lists announcing the
  44.                             re-opening of the catalog.  Other
  45.                             announcement possibilities are ConneXions
  46.                             and trade magazines (which didn't work too
  47.                             well last time).  Additionally, it was
  48.                             decided to poll the user community (rather
  49.                             than just vendors) to ask what tools they
  50.
  51.                                    1

  55.

  57.
  58.                             use often (NB: care must be taken to avoid
  59.                             words like "recommended").
  60. On-going maintainance       this is a topic which plagues the User
  61.                             Services Working Group since many documents
  62.                             are ``living documents''.  Various
  63.                             suggestions, such as on-line databases,
  64.                             were discussed; however, no consensus was
  65.                             reached.
